HH Epic Trail

Hepic Trail for short. The Hepic is a private hiking trail that follows the route of the original Epic cycle trail above the railway line that snakes out of the Helderberg bowl. It is located north-east of the Gantouw Pass below Hanskop. Access has to be arranged privately. Although its lower and northernmost extremities are badly infested with alien vegetation, the path along the contour below the cliffs of the Hottentots Holland range takes one through satisfying fynbos and stands of Waboom. Spectacular vistas of the Kogelberg range, False Bay, the Cape Peninsula and the Helderberg more than compensate for the sprawling conurbation below.
